Grouse, season start, and snares

Most would agree with me, not you.

Actually I think its the opposite. Most would agree with Remy. Not you.

Trapping is a legal form of outdoor recreation and although it does seem like a dying breed, its very effective at controlling predators and furbearers. I loathe the day my dog ends up in a trap, should that occur, and I'm sympathetic to anyone who has experienced it, including you. But accidents happen. I support licensed, legal trapping just like I support licensed legal deer hunting or pheasant hunting, etc.

You must be crazy, if a trap catches your dog, Im pretty sure your opinion will change

Trapping is cruel...Im one hundred percent against it.
I'm curious why you think bird hunting is less cruel than trapping. Have you ever shot and injured a bird that you didn't recover? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I'd just like to understand where you draw the line.

Set many a snare and trap. Most if not all states require an id tag of some sort. Most states have conibear trap restrictions for reasons listed above. When the anti’s come for bird hunters, i.e. public ground restrictions is an easy mark, we will want all hands on deck. Know lots of trappers and all hunt/fish as well. Always carry cable cutters!!! We’ve all seen a deer/coyote hung up in a fence.

Perhaps. That doesn't make a legal, licensed trapper the root of all evil though.
Your words not mine and yes I aways carry cable cutters, god forbid a difference of opinion

I am a Coast Guard licensed charter captain & state licensed fishing guide for over 30 years. I run boats on Lake Erie up to 60’. I handle thousands of fish taken by sports fishermen every year. Fishing is definitely the cruelest thing you can do to an animal. You bring that fish up from over 30’ & it is going to get the bends. You bring them out of warm water & hold them in your hand long enough to remove the hook while they are gasping for breath. Then you throw them on ice & they start thrashing around until they are too cold to flop around! I have actually had people on the boat quit fishing & puke after I explained this to them.

You shit on one sportsmen you shit on us all. This guy sounds like more of the bird watcher than a bird hunter

I’ve had a few dogs get caught in a foothold trap, not a big deal. One dog caught in a snare, she just sat down and waited for me to turn her loose. All sportsmen need to stick together, legal trapping is just as valid as legal hunting.
Obviously you have not been to a vet and had a $500 bill lately

Heifer feeder calves can cost $130–$210, while heifers can cost $130–$165, you need to read up on a cows value.
Thanks for the information on what cattle cost. I have been raising cattle for over 40 years and will definitely tell the sale barn that you say they are only worth 200 dollars. I will try to get a refund on the $2500 per head of the heifers I just bought.

I am pretty sure he wasn't just talking about ONE calf.
A 400-pound heifer calf sells for around $1600, 1000-pound yearling around $2200, if they are bred heifers even more. I pulled these numbers off the local sale barns Jan 3rd market report. You need to be real good friends with your banker to play in today's markets
