Just wanted to introduce myself to the gang here. My name is Jim Matthews and I've been a syndicated newspaper outdoor writer and freelancer on all topics hunting and fishing for over 40 years. I publish a public lands, where-to-go bird hunting newsletter for Southern California hunters and make custom quail calls (valley-Gambel's quail). If you have questions about hunting on public lands in the southern half of California (or most of the West, for that matter), I may be able to help you out.

welcome. I am two states above you here in Washington. I would really be interested in buying a couple of your calls. I saw the pics quailhound posted of them and they look awesome. I hunt a lot of quail up here and would love to try them out soon. pm me with contact info and price and I will order a couple. thanks
