Great day

Sitting here watching the sun rise on a nice crisp 45 degree Saturday morning. I’ve written many times in the past about the youth hunt put on at one of the local hunt clubs. Getting ready to head that direction for another year of introducing youths to pheasant hunting. Funny how I hadn’t thought about it until I let the dogs out of the kennel this morning but this will be the first time in the last 12 years that Copper won’t be along for the trip. Guess there will be many “firsts” over the next couple months like this. Brings back lots of memories and emotions.

Will post up some pics here later as the day goes on.

Have a great day.

Matt,

I share your pain. Lost my Dakota 2 weeks ago. She was 13 1/2.

Last few years she was not healthy enough to go to SD with us.

This year she is going with us to a special field in SD where she will join 2 of her running mates that are already there.

Memories and emotions. I'm lucky to have shared so many years with bird dogs watching them do what they love to do.

None of the pups will ever replace Copper , but they will for sure add new memories .
Enjoy the season and be safe!
