Grandson's first pheasant hunt

Took grandson for his first pheasant hunt New Years week in Kansas. Had a blast (even though us people from South Texas aren't used to that white stuff up north). A couple of pics and and some great memories.

That is great that you got him out after some birds. Wish we would have had better numbers this year for you.
I have a few years before I will have any grandsons, but I am looking forward to it.

:coolpics: looks like he had a great time as the smile shows, glad you were able to get him out and he scored. I would bet it is in his blood now.

Man, I could look at those three photos all day.

You guys are pretty tough to have hunted in what looks to have been a near ground blizzard. Hard-earned birds.

At about his age (almost 50 years ago) is when I flushed and dropped my first rooster. I can remember it like it was yesterday.

wood fence

Great pictures. Is the wood fence at the motel in wakeeney? It just kinda looks like the one I had outside my room opening weekend.

turtle, a bit south, closer to Dodge City.

Wonderful post. Makes me a little misty-eyed, having just buried my own grandfather (at 97) this past August. We hunted rarely, but boy-oh-boy did we fish a lot! I can tell you first hand that the memories that you are out forging with your grandson will never be forgotten, and that you are having a major influence on the kind of man that he will become. Thanks for posting.
