Got a couple today

Got invited to go hunting with some friends that I got my older setter Ace from. They brought Ace's mom Tinker and an old dog Lockie, that was also a pup from Tinker, who is 9 years old.

My son and wife came along. It was the first time that my wife has ever gone out on a hunt. We took Ace and my 7 month old pup Indy.

All 4 dogs pointed pheasants today. I was really impressed with Tinker at 9 years old. Her range and speed were limited by age, but she was finding and pointing birds with great skill.

Tinker pointed the rooster my some is shooting in this pic. Tinker was steady through the shot on this bird.

These are my two. Indy my pup (on the right) was pointing with Ace backing.

Ox's Grandma Tinker was really good yesterday. She is past her prime at 9, but she has the nose and smarts to make her very effective still.

Great looking setters! Had to be a good time out there with your son and your dog and his mother. Very cool.

Thanks guys, it was a lot of fun to get out there.

We have got a few more weekend to get out, then it is the long wait till next season.

Lets hope we have more birds around next season, this one has been pretty tough around here.

Nice pics SetterNut! Looking at your Indy dog makes me think I'm looling at my Sadie. They are both mostly white and mine is liver , yours red or orange. Same sweet looking faces...love those setters!
