Gosh Darn Skunks

Well the first preserve hunt of the year was going great, until the dog got sprayed by a skunk. A mixture of peroxide and skunk off has the dog smelling much better, but his e-collar is still stinky. It seems like the oils have broken done the plastic, anyone have any tips to get the stink out of the plastic?

Not sure there is much you can do. If your collar is made out of the typical plastic type material that most collars are you can try soaking it in the (peroxide, baking soda, dish soap) mixture for a day or so, otherwise you probably are going to need the strap replaced. If the collar looks broken down, I'd replace it. It shouldn't be an issue or overly expensive to send it back or order one from the manufacturer to have it replaced.

Just found this link. Not sure what brand of collar you have but this one appears to fit several models/brands: http://www.gundogsonline.com/dog-co...ars/universal-e-collar-replacement-strap.html
