Thinking of starting a go fund me for Limitless. The least we could do is scrape up funds to help this doggone huntin' fool out. He zips all 'round the upper Midwest with his dog honey. Sure she loves it so puts up with all the bad shooting and weather extremes, even wears a coat in the winter. Here's where he needs help... to put it bluntly all those miles walked and he carries a hideous cookie cutter gun. Might even be fake wood, I never got the nerve to ask. To top it all off there's some kind of crazy optic/red dot/AR style scope on the thing! If that don't beat all. Let's pool our resources together and get this guy a classic gun. 870 wingmaster, M12, or one of those cool old sweet 16s from back when Nixon was in office. Not a safe queen but one he can carry down through the drainage thickets and bluestem prairie's. We need to think of the dog here. She'd wouldn't be embarrassed to walk with him anymore or pose in photos next to that bric-a-brac claptrap.

Wait, Limitless! The plot thickens. So I knew about the red dot sight, but never really thought about what it looks like as you've been appliying it. Is that actually your gun? Do you also have a huge, raised comb on the stock? Something upon which to anchor your cheek the same way every shot, while also putting your eye behind the sight & looking parallel to the barrel?? This red dot technique gets more interesting the more I hear about it.

I don't know whose gun that is. Never seen it before. 🤷

Oh, wait... Maybe it is mine. I'm just used to seeing it next to all the roosters downed with it.

Oh crap! I'm sorry Limitless, I didn't know. We are all pulling for you. We'll help you if we can, but I know you are not the kind of guy to accept charity. Maybe it would help if you just kept it a secret and for god's sake don't post any more pictures of it. :)
You mean like these photos from the past week?

Or maybe you mean these photos showing the results of my last 6 shots taken last season? Awww.... Looks like I forgot to include it in the Jan 31 photo. I'll have to try to be better about that going forward.

The bric-a-brac claptrap managed to take the head clean off a rooster at 10 yards today, crossing right to left. Got the second low and away boy at about 15 yards out.

Note Honey looking at the camera in the 2nd photo.

P.S. The fake wood and plastic receiver and barrel are still holding up well.

Probably weighs 15 lbs with out the sniper scope. You must be a brick shit house of a guy to carry that thing.
:p

I have to be careful not to get too heavy, or I won't be able to cover the ground like we seem to do. Went 7 miles today and 4 yesterday. But that was a lot easier than the 8.5 and 9 last week in hellish cover.

One of the multiple reasons I went with this gun is light weight. 6.5 pounds empty. The sight adds 0.3 pounds. Now my fully loaded vest? That's another story. I should weigh that thing. Seems like it weighs 15-20 pounds!

You may be single-handedly redefining wingshooting as we know it, but why are you shooting 10, 12, 15 yard pheasants? This weekend, challenge yourself (and your sniper rig) with a couple 20-25 yarders.

I heard one of those youtube guys say not to bother waiting for them to get further out. He seems to do okay, so I figured I'd follow his advice.

They have been holding pretty good. But first bird yesterday was about 45-50 yards out. I didn't have a choice with him. The decoy bird flushed right to left in front of me and the smart boy flushed off to my right and went behind me into the sun. By the time I spun around, he was out there.

Why? Birds. In. The. Bag. Everything else is just noise. I did refrain yesterday from ground swatting the 1st of the 2 jokers who ran out of the ditch, onto the gravel road 30 yards up, laughed at me, and scooted into the private standing corn on the other side of the road. No ground birds. Everything else is going in the bag.

Perfect explanation. 😉

Yeah that isn't a good looking gun.
