Camping in eastern KS in a state park and we are hearing lots of quail. We even had a few cross the road in front of us this morning. Cold crisp mornings, falling leaves, and quail have me ready to go. My Irish setter is with us and he's ready to roll too. I don't think he understands why I won't let him run and find those birds. Anyone else struggling to make it though the last 3 weeks before opener?

I'm not sure about that. Park was incredibly well managed for a state park. We camp a lot and get to as many places as we can and it was one of the best we've been to in Kansas. I had to stop and let quail cross the road once. We heard at least 3 males calling in different locations from the kid fishing pond. Also saw deer, turkey, and tons of waterfowl. Had a great weekend!
