Most assessors simply do a blanket assessment based on the neighborhood; they do not look at individual homes. I personally know individuals who have complained and gotten it lowered in the past.

Just be aware that they may request to look inside your residence too which might back fire if you've done any recent upgrades.I'

I complained for years because my 150-year-old log home was assessed as a new home because I moved the logs from a different location. Finally, my daughter was elected county assessor. So, I thought I had it made. But when I complained to her, she just said shut up dad!
