Garmin ALPHA LTE collar Attachment

Does anyone use this unit? I am looking for experience and how accurate it is, etc. I have a coworker that uses the FI Collar for tracking and I ran across the Garmin unit. It requires a subscription service for the LTE tracking capability. I like the Garmin products and have trust in them, but I am not sure if it is better than the FI, etc.

I do not but what I can say is if it works anywhere near as well as the other Garmin products you will be happy with it. I can’t imagine Garmin would release a sub par unit

No I don’t have that collar. I bought a Garmin TT 25 and bought a pro 500 handheld device to pair it with. This system connects to satellites so no subscription needed. I thought maybe I would be out of cell service sometime but that would probably never happen. My collar was terrific. My dog usually stays close but a couple of times in South Dakota last fall I lost sight of her. I looked at my handheld and it showed where she was and which way she was going. I’m sure you’ll like the Alpha too.

Thanks. I am running the TT25 and PRO550+ as well for my training and hunting rig. This device is more of the everyday tracking that has multiple capabilities for tracking with GPS and cell, etc.

Steve at GunDog Supply has a great video discussing how it works and the pros and cons of the system. It requires a $50 per year subscription fee for each collar and the biggest downside in my mind is it requires a cellphone signal to work.
I don't have a cellphone signal in a large major my hunting spots so it won't be anything I purchase. If I had a cellphone signal everywhere I wouldn't need my InReach device.
