Hi there.

I am looking for some suggestions for a decent game farm around the Des Moines area. i am looking to bring a group of 4-5 guys and do some bird hunting and also some clay shooting. We have some of the group coming from Missouri and some from Minnesota. Looking for reasonable pricing and lodging. Let's hear some suggestions.

Thanks for the help.

Looks like you may be doing a google search to find out what you want to know.

Anyone from the Des Moines area that can help him out here:confused:

bensink farms by pleasantville is very cheap and the birds are as good as any or you can go to oak view2 hunt club in runnells wich is were i live its also cheap. google those two, they both have web sites. all places around here get their birds from the same place so steer clear of the big money hunt clubs, bensink is a very laid back place they let ya hunt. bensink is good with big groups i think they have 7 different fields if memeroy serves me right. hope this helps:cheers:

Only place I know that has tame birds is a place call SD:D Just joking:) Only place I know and its to far north for you is pheasant haven its kinda by Belmond had good birds and fun habitat. Must have been cheap because I'm a tight butt and I wasn't bitchng:D Good luck on your search and have fun:thumbsup:

Thanks for the help guys. I have done some looking on the net and Bensink has come up and looked pretty good. Glad to hear some reviews from actual people that have been there. I did look into Pheasant Haven and they have closed the game farm. Thanks for the help.

Google: safari iowa....they are a little east of Des Moines but it is a great place and they have cabins that you can stay in.

Larry does a great job with habitat and if you stay there they cook you a awesome breakfast. Good luck on wherever you go!

X2 on Bensink, Jack is a great guy. He's not involved with lodging though. Only one that I think incorporates lodging is Doc's, but tis a small fortune.

Only one I wasn't impressed with was Oakview2, pretty clearly making a buck and has little respect for the game, the hunt, or the dogs.

If I'm not mistaken there is also required non-resident preserve license you're going to need for Iowa. Maybe someone could verify this?

Thanks for the help. i have made contact with Bensink Farms and now just waiting to get schedules figured out.
