Future of CRP ?

Did the marsetail fade over the years in your CRP? Seeing some of that in my second year planting

Yes it did. I think we mowed once the second year. Year 3 it was awesome. Other than patches of Canadian thistles and brome invading, it is what we planted.

It's interesting to hear who's battling what, the only real threats to crp in our area of Kansas seems to be serecia and cedars. It seems to take care of itself on all the other weeds around us and from what I see out west

Western IL. Converted an old cool season filter strip from cool season (redtop and timothy totally overtaken by brome) to NWG. Unfortunately the property is not close to home. Went out for a visit mid-summer and there were areas that were nothing but giant ragweed.

Kind of a bummer. I burned it, and had the farmer spray it twice after the brome came back before planting. Not looking promising, but certainly better habitat than brome so thick you can't see the dirt.
