I did the same as Setternut and took off work Friday. Rascal was in town from IL so we hunted together on some private ground I have north of Manhattan.

We ended up moving 4 coveys and taking 8 birds. Saw 1 rooster. Had some REALLY smart coveys that literally gave us a "run" for our money.

Hunted Saturday with V-John and his girlfriend on some of my other private ground north of Wamego. Moved 5 coveys, saw sign of a 6th but couldn't find them. Also saw about 15 prairie chickens which was pretty cool.

Check out the awesome hat Rascal bought!

Those are some great pictures. Looks like you had some good hunts.

Kelli told me she likes the gun. I have not gotten out and hunted with John and Kelli yet this season. Want to get to see her Irish pup in action. My SIL and daughter have one of her pups and he is doing pretty well so far.

was a GREAT time...THANKS Mark......look forward to hunting together again in
December hopefully.....I also hunted some public ground on Thursday and found 2 covies....had several points on some tough birds in the woods....I got 3...me LOVES my Kansas....In the last 4 years I've literally destroyed a vehicle driving to Kansas soo much.....I'm hoping she has a couple more trips in her...I think the best part of Friday was seeing Jag my 14yr old wirehair point that giant covey we found at the last spot......I will remember that forever

Their Irish pup is a good dog. Lots of energy! She pointed a covey all by herself across a field on Saturday.

Rob - yeah that last covey was awesome. Glad Jag got on em!

Thanks Mark for the company and taking us. We had a great time! It's always nice to meet new folks, sorry I couldn't hear anything! I already have tinnitus and my hearing in the day to day life is getting worse. (I was wearing ear plugs and couldn't hear a damn thing. :) )

Duckn66- She LOVES the gun. Seriously. She said that she wanted me to let you know that she absolutely loves it. She can hit something with it too, which is nice. Beats her old gun which was a serious safety hazard. Pull one trigger and both barrels would go off. No thanks!

I really got to see some improvement in our little Abby girl. (Vizsla) I was pleased with her. She's starting to find a lot more birds too which is nice. Her mom found our birds in one spot, and stood for a long time until we got there, and Mark shot two birds with one shot on that one. Sis did stand broke through that which was nice. We really enjoyed ourselves, so thanks!

I was able to scratch one down on this find.

Need to get out.

Takes a lot of balls to wear a hat like that.

Everybody I've met off this site has been pretty great.
