Does Pheasants Forever still give away food plot seed in the spring???? Heard that they used to do that...milo, sorghum, etc..."pheasant acres" or some similarly named mix....

seed

I think so. Our chapter does in MN. It is not some type of special mix though. Just agricultural varieties of corn, beans and sorgum.

I just got back from our monthly meeting of Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation a couple of hours ago and we were discussing this very topic. We should be getting for sure corn and milo, not sure about beans and WW. So if you have a QUWF chapter close by you can contact them. NWTF, QF, QU and PF should also be able to help you as well.

Orders are taken in the fall. For next spring's seed, order it through your chapter (if they partake in the program) around Sept/Oct 2012.

Deliveries are in Apr/May.

It may be too late for you to get seed, but, chapters often have seed left over you may be able to get you hands on.;)

Well,

I just got an e-mail from my Chapter and my Bean Order was canceled. I'm not certain about the corn I ordered but I'm still waiting to hear why the cancelation occured. Seems kind of late in the process.

Has anybody heard anything else about seed orders?

I'm still waiting to hear from my chapter--always have got some before--but neve this late.

I ended up getting my corn but I did not get the soybeans I wanted. I was told that Monsanto had canceled all orders for soybeans.

Yep. That's the case for my chapter's beans too.:( Guess it's a nation wide PF issue at this point.
