Fox Squirrels

I'm sorry if this doesn't pertain to Pheasant hunting but it kinda does. Has anyone seen any Fox squirrels while out hunting pheasants? My grandsons and I would really like to find some. I have not had any luck in the walk-in areas or SWA or STL areas. If even a county or town close to would be appreciated. thanks!

I am located on the front range. Have guns....will travel. I am very familiar with eastern Colo. I have spent a lot of time out there hunting small game, turkey and deer. Just can't find any darn Fox Squirrels. Thanks!

My duck club has quite a few! Look for hedgerows in pastures. Those are the eatin' squirrels! In town we have black, white, and the usual red/gold variety, some as big as cat s. When I was a kid, I used to enjoy fried squirrel, and send the tails off to Mepp's Spinners to make lures, got 8-10 cents each. We are in Missouri. You'll have to get Abert? squirrels, tufted ears, north rim of the Grand Canyon, or pine squirrels. Or come back here, we can fix you up.

Pike National Forest, Park County. Trails off the forest service roads have them but I've never seen a lot.

Man I love eating tree squirrel. We have fox squirrels and grays out here. I know an old pecan orchard that is just loaded with fox squirrels but I never seem to make it out there to hunt them.

I looked out my window yesterday morning while brushing my teeth and counted 9 fox squirrels that I could see. The woods in my back are loaded with them. I only shoot the chipmunks because they ruin my landscaping!

My neighbor wants me to shoot them but I won't.

BTW, did anyone else know that fox squirrels are omnivores? I caught one eating part of a dead mourning dove a couple winters ago. It was holding it up chewing on it like a ear of corn.

They hunt and kill chimpmunks too. If you ever really want a squirrel dinner then bait a live trap with crappie fillets.
