Filson double hunting pants

They look heavy and too warm for this hunter....I would opt for lighter pants with a chap arrangement, as an option.

Double Tin Pants

Own them and Love them.

I hunt pheasants at least every weekend of the entire season. I also hunt a club into March of the year. I beat the crap out of pants and jackets. These bad boys hold up great and keep you dry. People will say that they're heavy or cumbersome. They're no heavier than a pair of overalls and they're no more cumbersome that a pair of long underwear, jeans and chaps.

If you are a twice year guy or if you live in the south, you might not need/want these. If you are a person who is going to hunt into the cold, make an all day push when the weather is in the single digits and snowy/wet, you'll be glad you own them.

To each their own.

Thanks for the input. How would you say they fit? Just order the same size worn in jeans?

I have a few pairs and also bibs of same construction. They are tough. Don't feel heavy while wearing them. They are true sized. Get the leather hemmed since that is where wear often occurs. Mine came unhemmed so had them altered to lenght.
I love mine for cooler weather and snow conditions.

I am on my second pair of them. I wore out the first pair, sent to Filson and they sent me a new pair free; guaranteed for life. I use them for hunting and also working out in the woods. Tough stuff. If it is above 50 degrees I will wear a lighter pair of hunt pants. In real cold they work fine even without long johns so long as you keep moving.
Cheers!
