Field Trimmed

My pretty Brittany got all his feathers cut off today for the season which begins with the Nebraska opener on Saturday. Nice thing about a dog, when they are ugly they are completely unaware of it .

Ugly? I love the way my springers look with a short haircut, its like getting a new dog. I don't like all the gsp comments though.

This is how Tony looks for the hunting season. He grows out quick so he is never cold.........Bob

my britts love to get trimmed i shave them in summer but they get another feather trim and nail cut right before the opener and then they know its gettin closer

When I give my 7 year old female Brittany a trim she is like a new dog. She perks up and seems to have more energy. On a recent hunting trip at the end of the day she had only a couple burrs while my buddies with a Springer and Small Musnterlander spent about an hour grooming their dogs. Elle, my 2 year old Brittany has a short, straight coat with a little feathering on the rear. Nothing seems to stick to her. Of course when you are covering the field at "warp speed" nothing has a chance to stick. :)

My little gal doesnt have much of a coat yet to trim. But she does have some feathering. Curious if you guys notice more cuts and scrapes after trimming versus not?

I mostly end up picking burs off her ears and leg pits. Err... Arm pits?

zeb my britts are the same wy they walk around struttin there stuff like they are the cock of the walk for about a week
