Field & stream

There are several places missing on that list for the west anyways. I think thats a good thing. :)

Habitat NOT!

I have never been impressed with Mud Lake. Maybe I could give it another chance. Just more hours on the road though.
Thanks for sharing Wess
jsdriggs There are more wild Pheasants on 200 ac in SD than 20,000 ac at mud lake. Its not habitat its the management of the habitat. Read "Sad" Idaho. We need a change of management !!!!

Is Mud Lake a National Wildlife Refuge? They're managed with waterfowl as the main objective and everything else as an after thought.

http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/public/wildlife/wma/ None of the state wma are managed well for wild pheasants. The fed Camas NWRMA next to mud lake lists Pheasants with noxious weeds that must be removed. Both state and fed are run by biologists who also write the management plans there in to native things & wild pheasant hunters be damned even though sportsman pay for all the IDFG funding as no general fund $ is used in Idaho. We pay the salaries for the biologists that treat pheasants as second rate citizens. see Idaho "sad"

Here's Idaho's report to the commission that describes the dilemma they're in as far as funding. They need a more reliable cost indexed system of funding because it's all going to go to zero over time if it doesn't change.

As sportsman we have done this to are selves with the training of the people that we put in charge. In stead of people that under stood that sportsman were paying the bills and they should support the hunt/fish industry we allowed people to run things that look at things differently. I guess the general fund can now pay for them.
