Went to pick up an outboard motor from a seller on Craig's list.
In his very lovely home, with its very lovely airplane hanger, and his very lovely airplane was a view of two acres or so of lawn, then the community's private airport.
But, the magic moment occurred when his 2.5 yr-old female Gordon Setter came up for some loving ! What a sweetheart!
I had only seen Gordons at AKC shows over the years. This dog was Springer Spaniel height and length, and darn-near as narrow as a whippet. He said the dog is doing well on pheasants, but still will break sometimes if the bird is moving. She was sight-pointing birds on the lawn, and then stalking a shrub with some birds in it. Then racing with the joy that we all know and love.
I told him he could keep the home, the plane, and the money for the motor, I wanted the pup. She was just wunnerful. Wunnerful, I say!
Settled for the outboard, but went away smiling about the little Gordon girl.
