Hello all,
My name is Michael Beran and I'm from Bossier City, Louisiana.
I am a Falconer, I may not ever take a daily limit of pheasant (two is my best) but I have a fantastic time doing it with my two trained Harris Hawks. I love to talk birds, both, the trained ones and the quarry. I have lots of PICs to post but not many of pheasants.
:D

Welcome! Glad to have ya. We do enjoy pics, and can't wait to see yours. Hope you enjoy the site as much as we do, they do a great job here and it's a riot! Lots of good info here and all is willing to help. Hope to hear from you often.

Michael:

Welcome. Please post up your photos.

Kansas seems to have a fat red tailed hawk in about every third tree. Big birds.

We used to have a Falconer in our NAVHDA Club. Used a Small Munsterlander to locate birds and send the hawk in once the bird was flushed. Alledgedly, the SM was used only for falconry before the invention of guns.

Hi, Michael. Welcome to the site. Falconry is fascinating, and Harris's are beautiful birds. Do you always hunt your pair in tandem? Good days a(bove)field! :)

I do hunt two birds currently when it's just me in the woods.
These are my two wild (passage) birds I trapped in Arizona.

When I get together with friends we can hunt 6-8 birds at one time, we could hunt more but 5-6 different Falconers in the field at one time is all I can handle!

These are the only raptors that with "pack up" and hunt like wolves!

I have always been fascinated by falconry - if only I had the TIME to add one more hobby to the list! :) Sure would love to tag along behind someone & take some bang-up pics of the action someday though! Nice to see you helping to keep alive such a noble & ancient sport of kings!

I ran across a really cool online video once perusing thru MyOutdoorTV or something like that (???)...It was a combo-hunt of sorts for blue grouse - with dogs (labs) on the ground to flush the birds & falcons hovering high above to take em' down...One of the most AWESOME sights I have ever seen!!!

Welcome to the site, Hope you enjoy your time spent here......Bob
