F150

My buddy bought a used, Lariat?? for his retirement present. Top of the line, whatever that model is called. Gave 40 K used. He loves it and it is awesome inside and out, But daaaam, I don't see one in my future!

Got a 2022 Lariat and that replaced a 2018 I think. Great trucks. 3.5 Eco Boost has been very good. My 2018 is over 200K nothing major. Current truck is at 92K miles. Starting to look at a new one for this spring. Nothing else is even in consideration for the new one.

I bought a new 2023 F150 in March and already have 29,000 miles on it. I love the truck, but just about a month ago I had an axle bolt break out of no where for no good reason. I had heard some rattling in the backend and thought is was just a stone I had picked up Anyway when I was having tires rotated asked mechanic to chec. Soon he texted me a photo of axle bolt broke off completely and you could tell by the wear it had been broken for a while.
Turns out Ford has a recall in on this problem. It took dealership two weekends to get a replacement part. Apparently problem has been only in Super Duty and 1/2 ton with trailer package

Mine is a 2008 I bought new and it currently has 251K miles and still going strong. Rust is my only issue. If I could get a new aluminum body F150 with the old 5.4 Triton v8 I’d be a happy man.
We just got my wife a new car so I’ll be driving mine for another year or so.

I think Ford transmission is better.

That's strange

I had a 2012 Lariat with the 5.0L and it was a great truck until I got hit by someone that ran a red light and the truck got totaled due to a bent frame. I looked Hard at the new Ford offerings and ended up getting a new 2023 GMC SLT with the 6.2L. There is a major upgrade in the GMC with the fit and finish, interior details, tailgate, motor, and transmission.

Had a 2016 F150 EcoBoost Crew Cab. Put lots of miles on it Utah to SD and more miles pulling a 24ft trailer all over the west. Dogs loved having the back area with the seats folded up. Never gave me a big problem but it did like to eat throttle bodies every so often, Sold it late last year and bought a 2019 F350 Diesel due to getting a larger RV. I've only owned Ford trucks and have nothing bad to say about them.

I went and test drove a 2024 EcoBoost with the 6.5 foot bed. I noticed a vibration in the steering wheel over 65 and got worse at 75-80. Has anyone else experienced this? The truck was awesome and loved everything about it except this.

Brown Dog, I've seen comments in the Ford forums about "death wobble" in trucks which is really bad front end shaking. On the other hand if it wasn't severe it could have been misalignment or tires way out of balance.

None of my trucks ever had anything other tire balance vibrations

I've always had good luck with them. I got a 2017 5.0L with 145k miles. Ignition coils go, but those are easy. All I've done to it so far is plugs and just a few weeks ago the water pump was squealing so had a new one put in.

That is the exact specs of my last two and not had that at all.
