Extended forecast….

Just returned from my hunting area, it was 56 and sunny Thursday when I arrived later in the afternoon. Dropped my year old pup off for training Friday….fun being there! Saw two generations of farm families Thur nite and munched on smoked salmon and cheese and sausage…bought coffee, caramel corn, beef sticks, cheese spreads, etc in support of 4H and the music program at the local school…the boy selling them is about 13, and has over 100 chickens…we buy eggs from him each time we’re there…a real treat! Fun to get to see them again.

How far from Chamberlain is your hunting territory? I fished Wednesday and Thursday. Had an extra seat. Maybe headed back this week depending on the wind. I see you were in Sioux Falls yesterday. Who’s you trainer.?

I’m an hour from chamberlain, thx for the thought! I’ve now bought 3 labs from high caliber labs in Lennox…really like Andy Schoeberl, top notch!

The greatest compliment you can give to a breeder, is to return when it is time for another pup. Life is too short to live with the wrong
canine companion. It is good people that brag about their dog.

Puppy Mill? I don't know where that impression is from. I've had my dog for 10 years next week. If there was a problem with his hunting ability it would have surfaced by now. I've had labs from three different breeders, and two of them are now out-of-bus. Of course, some folks turn down their nose at any pups that don't cost $5K or more. I've hunted with some of those, and they were better left in the truck. While some may be fine field champions when every act is carefully scripted, they can't work or think on their own. I have a friend from WY that hunts birds with a Border Collie. That sounded kind of crazy till I saw that dog work. If I didn't love my labs, I would have no problem with one of those.
