A farmstead northwest of Jetmore in Hodgeman County was destroyed nine years and two months ago by an EF-4 tornado, just a month prior to Greensburg tornado. That same night just a few miles north into southern Ness County my brother-in-law and his son's family was hit by the same tornado. My BIL lost his garage, had damage to his house, lost numerous cattle, miles of barbed wire fence and his son lost their adjacent house and several cars, trucks, combines and farm machinery, along with about 60 big round bales that were busted open and hay scattered everywhere.
Well Tuesday night I had a call from my brother-in-law checking on us in Dodge and that he had a deja vu experience moments earlier. He checked the storm and another tornado was on the ground moments away from hitting their houses just like nine years ago. He called his son and both went to their basements waiting for destruction like they remembered, but after a wait nothing, so my BIL came up from the basement to check and no tornado. A cousin a few miles away was watching it and said it raised up right before it hit them. Thank God for that.
But the sad news is that the farmstead in Hodgeman destroyed nine years ago and rebuilt was destroyed again last evening.
Prayers to all in need.
