PD....

I have been looking for a brittany pup but not having much luck finding what I want. Your Setter pups sound really interesting. How big is the dam? Wife says we have to keep next bird dog in the house and so I am looking for a dog that won't get too big (my last GSP weighed 80 lbs and although well mannered was like a bull in a china shop just walking around in the house). Thanks.

Pups

I've been into setters since 1985 and have been breeding since 1995 out of bloodlines that are hard to find in this part of the US. I like the grouse bred dogs as they have the natural talents to adapt to almost any foot hunter's situation. Pearl, the dam, is 38-40 pounds and has been exceptionally natural all around. Her sister is a grouse champion as is her father. The sire is right at 50 pounds and has the grouse trial parents/grandparents that show that the quality is "bred in". The sire is trialed and has placements in walking shooting dog and derby stakes. Pearl has been in the house since a week before she whelped and is a very nice addition. I hunt mainly pheasants, but also plenty of quail and some prairie chickens along the way. Pearl has handled all of these species with great style while staying in constant touch with me. She has lots of point, natural retrieve and plenty of back. I grew up in NW Kansas and moved here from there. If you're interested, give me a call.

Pup update

The pups are getting to the fun age. They are developing nicely. We moved them to the elevated outdoor pen on Wednesday when they turned 5 weeks old. Today they got their first run in the yard. There are still pups available.

I still have pups available from this litter as well as an older pup. These pups are getting worked on pigeons and run in native grass meadows. They are showing good style and speed.

I would love a female as I have a male descended from the Grouse ridge line, great dogs! I cannot make it to Kansas and the cash is a little short, maybe next litter I hope!

Ya, I am in the same boat as FieldKing, I am trying to get through school so money is TIGHT, but hopefully you will have some more litters.
