Tell you guys a funny story wasn’t then. So years ago when there were tons of birds in Nebraska I was around 30 years old. Shortly after Thanksgiving we got out there brutal I mean brutal cold. I knew we were in trrouble When we crossed the Missouri River and it was froze over. When we got out around Lonny’s about 6 inches or more of snow on the ground. Anyway we hunted five days and the actual temp never got above 5 degrees for a high. Most of the days it was below zero. We didn’t care young and dumb. We just hunted but froze our asses off. The last day my buddy was trying to get his Britt out of his crate and the dog growled at him. He had enough. Heard on the radio the wind chill was 29 below zero. We were out in that from sun up till sundown. Back in those days didn’t have the high heck clothes you can buy now. Anyway we harvested more pheasants that week than any other hunt I’ve ever been on. It was incredible. Big roosters blowing out of the snow everywhere. Best of times.
