Dumb Question About Corn

Ooooohhhhh, spooky - looks like this post is turning us all into 'Children Of The Corn' - heh-heh-heh!

One thing for sure, there are myriad ways to attack the corn and surrounding parameters, & to seek out roosters...We all have our preferences in hunting styles & choice of element/habitat...And there are always extenuating circumstances or exceptions to the rule to justify almost any approach at least on occasion!

I have meant no harm or personal offense to anyone in particular on this thread...Just stating my limited one-man's perspective/opinions like everyone else.

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone & may the feathers fly!!! Just make sure to leave one or two for me when I get back! ;)

The land i will be hunting is 1000 acres of old wheat farm land. It was farmed about 10 years ago and hasnt been touched since. The land right next to it is corn land...I am hoping they all move to the wheat field...I want them..lol

This particular reply is specifically in response to "only a pointer"s suggestion...Hey, I'm officially a believer in working the cut corn now (at least on cold, snowy days)! :)

Today, since I already had two morning birds under my belt & saw a bunch more finally boiling mid-day out of a big shelterbelt far out into the middle of a cut-over cornfield, I decided that today was my day to test out that theory about working an open cornfield...With several inches of fresh snow on the ground & lots of drifting, a stiff breeze in our face (2 of us + 3 dogs), and a noon temp hovering around 8-10 degrees - I decided that if it was ever going to work, today was about as good a conditions as it could possibly get!...The dog in short order flushed my third (CO limit) rooster up out of the cut-corn at a very close range & a little later put up two more hens even closer just for fun - and we didn't even walk 1/4th of the field! I am sold, at least under the right conditions (though still not sure how well it might work under hot/dry and/or pin-drop/silent no-wind conditions)!!! :D
