some time back I kenneled my dogs,3, in a kennel here in town, when I picked them up they were coughing some and their noses seemed dry to me. After a couple of days of this I took the one to the vet who had the worst symptoms. They all were immunized for kennel cough and all the dogs who are kennel there are suppose to be also. My vet was not sure but thought perhaps they had a slight case of kennel cough and not to worry unless it got worst at which time I should bring them all back. Well they got better almost right away but their noses are still really dry to the point that they are somewhat white and not black. I learned later that the kennel had kenneled several dogs who were inpacted due to the forest fire in Black Forest and I am guessing that several were covered in smoke and that may have caused the irritation and some may not have had the kennel cough vaccination/nose drops.
Now I am worried that with their noses so dry it might affect their smelling ability.
Your thought please.
