Dog vest for retriever around 65lbs.

I bought a dog vest for Skye 5 years ago. She wore it a few weekends but it rubbed raw spots on her armpits, so that was the end of the cabelas cheap-o. Any suggestions for either a vest or skip plate that won't chaff puppy?

P.S. not needed for warmth, she never gets cold while upland hunting.

The last one I used that I got the best non-chaff on was the Browning dog vest, the model with the 3 velcro straps. I really, really liked the skid plate and chest protector on it. The area that came in contact with the armpits was neoprene. But just to make sure I didn't have issues, I coated my dog's armpits with Musher's Secret as well as the neoprene.
I got 2 seasons out of it before the velcro was trashed, but for $30, it was worth it. The skidplate/chest protector took 3 direct hits from barbwire and held up.....it cut the skidplate material, but not through.....a little rubber cement on the cuts and good to go.

I’ve have both the cuga as well as the Scheels. Chaffing of the armpits seem common amoung all my dogs. The Velcro fastening is better than the clips/snaps of other brands.
The ones that are just skid plates (with straps) don’t have that issue as they don’t go around the armpits but lack the whole body protection. You just get protection on the undercarriage.
