Dog CPR

So yesterday my wifes German Shepherd had a seizure and died on the way to the vet. Me being a dad and thinking I can do anything I tried to perform CPR to the best of my ability. Well the dog didn't make it  and it made me think, how do you do CPR on a dog? I have been trained how to fix up a person from simple choking to a sucking chest wound and everything in between but I really have no idea how to save my dogs life. So does anyone know who might teach a doggy CPR class as well as general first aid?

when you get trained first aid or first responder, they do train you how to do CPR on animals, they dont actually have you peform this but it is in the test and presentation. youre suppose to breath into their MOUTH and NOSE. so basically put their muzzle in your mouth and breath.. but you need the dog or cat on their side. Have to make sure their side of the mouth is not escaping air when you breath in. when you do this, you can see the chest rise.. if it does keep doing it, if not, you dont have the dog or cat in the right positon.

Im a certified First Aid/First Responder and ive only had to do it once.. and was successful..

that video shows good information.. although i was told to breath in mouth and nose...

if youve done CPR on babies or trained how to on a baby, its basically same thing, except you do it on the dog's side.

babies are same, blow in nose and mouth.

Tell you wife sorry about her loss. It is never easy to loose a loved one.

I'm a first responder at work and the Pet CPR is new to me thanks for the Video find (Bobeyerite) And I agree I hope I never need to use it.

you should check out petmd soon, that same happend to me on jan 15 this year,
i remember you put the dog on its RIGHT side ,and what birdman said it is a little defernt for a smaller dog

note: i was told call or local police they are the first responders here ,they said they dont do that
