dog box need polishing

Hi everyone
just need suggestion on what polish works well, i have a dog box that needing polishing but don't know what to get and make it almost shiny as it once was. i bought it used, but in very good condition just need a little tlc. any advise is appreciated.
 
I assume the box is aluminum...

Google "polishing/cleaning aluminum should get you lots of ideas or call a mfg. of alum. products.

Having attempted to clean alum. in the past - it can be a big mess!

Stop by your automotive store and pick up a product for cleaning aluminum rims. Will work just as well on your box.
