Does S. Dakota release

Nebraska did raise birds, at Sacremento-Wilcox, they did this for years, and stocked them routinely on the area. Nebraska is still using pen raised birds for the " youth only" season, I know Alexandria gets a lot, I believe Branched Oak gets some. I know they discontinued the program at Sacremento-Wilcox, I have know idea where they get birds now. But it certainly isn't "BS", look at the Nebraska game and parks internet site. Report to the teacher with a report and pennance! ;)

She said they were doing that with help from alot of farmers.

I grew up, hunted all over the state...seeing a farm with a flight pen for raising pheasants for release was almost impossible to find...I now see them in SD occasionally.

I do not know in Nebraska, maybe a sportsmans club lke Broken Bow, ( the famous one box hunt), might foster this. I know other states do, Pennsylvania I belief is one, as is New York. Usually, they release early on, before fighting and when they have basically short spurt flight, which they can do in a chicken pen, by the way. Maybe a 100 years ago, Nebraska, and South Dakota with outdoor civic clubs did then.
So either the lady was really old, or a Vampire, or misguided and confused with a civic sportsman's club. There are a few of these around here and there. It's not currently efficient, cost effective, and will not improve hunting, except the few birds harvested nearly immediately. I know Cabela's has a raffle/contest in Aberdeen, where they have pheasants banded with prizes on them, those are NOT naturally produced birds!
