I sprayed some Plateau around some dogwoods earlier this year. Probably around the end of May. I have noticed that some of the weeds and grass is turning purple and I mean totally purple. Unfortunatly some of the leaves on the dogwoods are turinging yellow and purplish. Any thoughts?

MD,

All I can tell you is plateau does not turn stuff brown like roundup. It just slow kills the stuff and that kind of sounds like what you got. The dogwoods might have caught some drift perhaps. I suspect they will be harder to kill or injure than a plant.

That was my thought. The label says that dogwood can take up to 12 oz an acre of direct spray.

I got a musk thistle problem in my CRP trees. I am thinking that I can go down the rows with just center section on sprayer which should cover the 14' in between trees. The trees are 5-7' tall so pretty big and I plan to use Milestone. Always afraid to make fatal chemical mistake in trees.

I plan to call whoever makes milestone and get some technical assitance on that one first.

I've used Milestone in the trees now for three years without any problems. I usually walk the tree rows with a 3 gal backpack in the fall and early spring. Probably too late to spray the Musk thistles this year. Musk's will have a rosette the first fall and then grow to a full size plant the next spring. Best time to get them is in the fall or early spring before they bolt.

How many onces per gal are you putting in the hand sprayer.

Landman, why do you say it is too late to spray musk now?

all i know is dont use milestone on trees if its got green leaves. best time to spray thing around trees are fall when the trees are dead for the winter.

as far as i know, milestone does kill trees.

ive used 4 oz per 25 gals... you should spray musk every spring and fall to get major results.

dont use milestone in pastures with cows or horses. milestone wont kill sheeps but will hurt cows and horses.

also your milestone should of came with a book if you got some milestone. everything is in that packet.
