Does anyone else scout???

I am extremely fortunate in that my wife accompanies me on most of my hunts. She is an exceptionally talented amature photographer. We save our vacation time to take our dogs on hunting trips. I know a lot of guys who go on hunting trips to get away from their wives but not me. I got married to share my life with someone. Bird dogs and bird hunting are some of the best parts of my life. Why would I not want to share that with her????

There are times I wish my wife would go. Some images and moments in the field are so special that I wish she was there to experience it too. It's impossible to explain something like that to a person who hasn't been there... But, it's just not her "thing". I've been trying to get her out in the field since I've known her but I doubt it will ever happen. Fortunately there's still hope for the kids.:D

And to be honest, having different interests isn't totally bad. None of the wedding vows says you need to be attached at the hip... For the time being, I am content with the fact that she understands and supports my passion for the outdoors. In my book she's a :10sign:

@Toad, Keepin-Up & Bilbo--My wife is a city girl to the core, her feet don't leave the pavement very far or often (we've been married 30 yrs & I don't see it changing at this point) - except that she does like to hike, picnic, birdwatch & once-in-awhile fish with me in some of the hand-picked places I take her only when the summer weather is absolutely guaranteed to be 100% PERFECT!!! :D

We do share many other things together - antiquing, movies, the man/woman thing, our kids & friends - the usual. Though I certainly would have loved to have married a really "HOT" hunting-companion for life (especially at tent & hotel time--who wouldn't) - I am perfectly happy with the arrangement my wife & I have and I really kind of enjoy my Little-Boy-Wonder time to myself & with the "boys"! I don't really want her tagging along - cause when it comes to huntin', something inside me kicks into a whole-nother gear & I go hard at it!!! I'm just glad she lets me leave the house with her blessing (most days)!!! :p
