Do you carry a dog first aid kit while hunting and if so what should be in one

I am going out west for hunting and starting to think I should carry a dog first aid kit or something. What do you all experience hunters carry in one? I am told a must have is a C7 wire cutters for snares. but other than that what are some suggestions on things to put in the game bag?

Also do you guys anything to your dogs food prior to going to make the long drive and stress of a 20 hour box ride easier. I watched a video that said I should start Fortiflora or something like that 5 days prior. The worst thing is to take a dog out there and it get so stressed or sick from the ride they do not hunt.

I keep a decent first aid kit in the truck. And few small first aid items in my vest. In my vest I keep vet wrap and quick clot gauze and regular gauze. I also keep cable cutters in there. In the truck I have a good human first aid kit and added a few things like bag balm benzocaine spray and eye wash. I also grabbed a dog first aid book to keep in the truck.
On long trips I have a two dog box in the back and put a plastic kennel in the truck I will rotate dogs to the cab at stops to give them a break from the road noise and elements. Also the in cab is good in case one get injured or something.

Don’t change the food before a trip, or at all in my opinion in the hunting season… diarrhea means dehydration. Dogs that ride in a kennel regularly will have no problem with the trip. Wire cutters, tape, gauze, and needle nose quill pullers is all I carry, good kit it the vehicle.
 
In my vest I carry cable cutters, needle nose, quick clot, vet wrap, black tape, gauze, wooden dowel with attached cord (to keep mouth open to pull quills and a leash. In my truck I have human first aid kit. Plus extra stuff for the dog, iodine, saline, wound stapler, razor, scissors, forceps, Benadryl,
You can buy premade dog kit, or put one together yourself.
 
Antibiotic and a medical stapler. I should prob have a cable cutter, but no one is trapping so I just havent. Can you handle a 220 body grip by hand? You should look that up if you havent. I stapled my dog up 5 minutes before the opening day bell last year after I let her out to burn off steam from the drive and she challenged a fence. Lost. Seen it a half dozen-8 times with this dog so I just stapled her up and we went. Healed fine. Buddy’s dog had a gash last year-i said put em on the tailgate. 5 staples and we were back at it.
 
Have a copy of your dogs shot and medical records with you(in your truck) and identify a local vet you can go to in an emergency....at least that's what I do on long trips. I have fortiflora around but only use if I need it. It works. I keep my dog food the same on hunting trips. I will bring instant rice, cooked chicken and a can of pumpkin with my regular food. Good to have when you're staying in a small motel room and getting stomach issues under control quickly is important.

I keep basic med stuff for dog in my vest with Felco snare cutters. Bigger first aid kit in truck.

It’s a 6 day ride from my house to where I pick up my travel trailer. Dogs get the same food as always only difference is when we start hunting they get more.
