Differences

There's more

Pheasant addict, there are more! There is also a Braque de Averenone,( pardon the butchered spelling), or something like that, looks a little more like a setter. Read an article years ago in gundog, but haven't seen or heard of one since. Of course in the article it was a noble beast, and we are all fools to hunt behind any other! till next month's feature anyway.

In doing a little reading about the Braque Francais it appears there are two different types of this breed. The larger version, the BF-Gascogne, stands 22-27 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs 50-75 lbs. The smaller version, the BF-Pyrenees, stands 19-23 inchs and weighs 40-55 lbs. The BF-Pyrenees would be closer in size to the Braque du Bourbonnais. Other than being similar in size and somewhat similar in appearance I can't tell you the exact differences. Both dogs originate from France.

Shari "RufnitKennels" raises Braque du Bourbonnais and posts on this site. She has some pups listed for sale in the "Puppies for Sale" forum. http://www.ultimatepheasanthunting.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4432

Shari can probably tell you the exact differences in the breeds. Shoot her a PM and tell her to post it here.
