Denver post article

I think that article speaks for most of us here on UPH.

Good article. The most comfortable footwear in the world is a dog curled-up at your feet . . .

Great article. Thanks for posting.

I'm in Michigan for the Holidays so I didn't read Scott's article until Blue's posting. I've always liked Scott's work and this is a gem-brings tears to my eyes while I look forward to driving back to Denver Wednesday and reconnect with my yellow pair. The four birds in the freezer are incredibly expensive birds but the pride and joy of watching Parker bring them back makes the expense worth it, and then some. I'm so glad the season lasts all of January in Colorado.
P.O.L.

Great article, but I think we're all better off NOT thinking about the price per pheasant.

Funny story- I save a tailfeather from each rooster I shoot (have done it for years) and put them in a vase on the mantle. It looks pretty good, and reminds me of my hunting trips whenever I look at it. I should post a pic...

Anyway, my wife took some tailfeathers out of the vase to decorate a Christmas wreath she was giving away. She casually mentioned it to me after she had taken quite a few.

I said, "ARE YOU NUTS?! Do you have any idea how many hours, miles, and dollars I have tied up in each ONE of those tailfeathers?"

She said, "No, how much money DO you have tied up in each tailfeather?"

I said, "Nevermind... it's not very much money... they have sentimental value":laugh: Then I told her I was going hunting twice as much next year so I could replace the feathers she took.:D
