How many guys are going to enjoy the combination of West River Deer hunting with pheasant hunting this weekend or even east river next weekend. Between Me and my Dad we have 6 deer tags to fill. Might have to donate a couple to Sportsman against Hunger.

I'm going with a group that has 6 either species tags as well, should be a great weekend! Heading out tomorrow to do a bit of scouting and hunt some pheasants first. Good luck!

me and my father have tags. i may wait til closer to thanksgiving to get my deer.

i shot my 6x4 3 days before the deer season closing date. I dont think i will be hunting pheasants either that day.

Well me and my Dad put three deer on the meat pole by 8:00AM and at 11:00 met up with 4 other guys and started chasing roosters, pretty good way to spend a Saturday.

Wirehairs, nice photo. I could put that drill to good use:) I have been ere all week east River combo deer and pheasant hunting. Hard to beat this type of hunt anywhere. I can't get a gun tag so bow only for me. 2 does and a buck on the ground so far (well that's all for this year.) Here's the buck I got. So far the best buck I have taken.

Very nice picture Wirehair. I hope to get one like that this week coming from WI I am heading to Sisseton to hunt Indian Reservation i have never did this hope every thing goes ok & see some birds.:

I like to deer hunt, but hate the east river deer season. Guys drive were ever they want and screw-up my pheasant hunting. Every Time I walk a slough or chunk of weeds guys show up with there trucks waiting for me to push out a deer. I think some guys follow me around. It is a joke.

If all they do is wait for me to push deer out, I'll be happy and relieved; my first time hunting SD, and I'm worried about Saturday's deer opening; hope we'll be able to find safe places to hunt in the Wagner area. Will depend on what we find Thursday and Friday, I guess. It's their opening day; I don't want to tick off deer hunters. Showing how little I know--do deer hunters frequent the Waterfowl Public areas, down amongst the cat tails and sloughs? Just pondering places where we might not be interacting.
