Decisions... Decisions...

One of these little guys is coming home with me in a little over a week.

Nothing like a new puppy to keep you occupied. :)

Another look:

Nice looking pups where are they out of if you don't mind me asking. If it was me I like the big guy playing with the black kong toy in the top picture, he seems to like mouthing things in both pictures and is also by himself. All of this may just be coincidence. I also like his markings the best. I'm patiently waiting for my pup out of a litter in nw ks right now.

Not at all.

This is a Top Gun Kennels breeding of Hope/Snuffy. Hope belongs to Steve Ries owner of Top Gun and Snuffy (Hillhaven's Scent Seeker) was co-owned by Steve when he had him. This was a frozen breeding as Snuffy has been deceased for quite some time.

He really likes what he's seen in this litter so far. Very active was something that he mentioned.

I'm the 3rd pick of these 5 males (there are also 4 girls not pictured). I still have to see'em in person and spend some time with them. I suspect it will be a take your pick or maybe go by markings/color???

That's sounds like a stellar breeding. Should have a real nice pup with which ever you choose. Like I said earlier I'm waiting on a pup too that is pretty heavy with Hustler blood as well as a few other nice dogs. Yours has a few weeks head start on mine though. I think the waiting is the worst part. You know what they say though "good things take time".

Yeah the waiting is hard but doesn't get any easier when the breeder makes this claim and i quote

Some of you receiving a puppy from this litter will have purchased your 2nd and 3rd puppy from us and know that you have not heard us make this claim before??this could be our nicest litter ever from what we see at this time?!

Now... if you don't mind ME asking, where is your future pup out of?

put them all in a 20foot pen and sit at the other end. Whichever makes it to you first - take that one home. Its as successful as trying to pick one out.. Have fun with whichever pup goes home with you!

Mine is out of Standing Stone Kennels with Ethan and Kat. It's the breeding between Ozzy and Maggie and I also just picked up another from Kaj Larson at Huntem Kennels that is already started, that pup is out of Ruger and Cookie. That rounds me out at 3 dogs total in the kennel now.

I looked at some of the pedigrees on the Standing Stone website.

Looks like a lot of Shooting Starr blood mixed with some Odyssey going back to some Hillhaven's. Versatile/Dual bloodlines at there best.

I see Maggie has Higgins (Top Gun stud) as a Grandfather on Dams side. Hope is a Higgins daughter out of the last litter Higgins produced naturally before he passed.

I currently have a Higgins son as well. Higgy produced a bunch of MH titled dogs and was 2008 AKC Hunt test sire of the year. He left his mark with pups that were all very natural and extremely cooperative. And good looks.

I kept a runt out of my britt's litter. She was a fine dog; I should have bred her.
I always thought her smallness made her a non-breeder. I was wrong. I was shocked when she bit a pit bull chasing her step daughter.

Birdshooter those are some great looking pups you should be excited.
My GSP is from Top Gun Kennels with Henry and Higgins on the sire side.

Thanks, I am excited. Been 8 years since I last went thru the puppy process, time to bring another one in and go thru the process of making a bird dog.

Not yet. A week from today I make the trip to Iowa. I may have Steve pick for me or should I say his wife as she's the one has spent the most time with them and will know any differences between them better than anybody.

One whole week. Only 7 days left or if you'd rather only 168 more hours or 10080 minutes. You get the idea. I hope time goes by fast for you:D

I'm 3rd pick male and evidently the 2 picks before me have already been chosen and I have no clue as to which 2 those are. I think I will most likely weigh heavily on the breeders advice as they see these little guys everyday.

Just thought I'd let those that have been following this thread that the decision has been made. :)

In part due to the recommendation by the breeder, but mostly because I think he picked me....

Very active litter when we had all the boys out. The 1st pick male had already been taken and the 2nd pick was waiting to go to Texas.

Named him "Gauge". Loves to carry things around, doesn't seem to matter what it is either. Play hard, crash hard...;)

From what I remember he seems to be a bit more active than my now 8 year old was at that age. But it's kind of hard to remember that far back.

I'll post some better pics when I get a chance.
