CRP look up

What about public lands?

U.S. public lands should be described on USDA and BLM (DOI) websites, but I have not looked. State public lands for hunting would be on each states' wildlife authority website.

Illinois has a program run thru DNR where landowners can designate land as "dog training area", allowing them to train dogs during the off season. Maybe your state has something similar.
Another option I've seen are hunt clubs that allow dog training during the off season...with a price. All depends on how much windshield time you are putting in and weighing the balance. Windshield time can be profitable for scouting, and enjoyable with tunes and a few cool beverages. Nothin like "Chillin on a dirt road..."
Option III
Join a training club like NAVHDA, NSTRA...they all have access to training grounds. Open doors to sell pups, share your knowledge, and maybe learn something from others.

We get a free permit to train sure, I have places for that. I am looking for places to hold an AKC field trial. With out canada wild rye grass that kills dogs, and it aint easy. Flippin PF and USDA. They need to wake the $%$# up.

FCS, wanted to thank you for getting the word out on dangerous grasses in a previous post. Replanted 67 acres last spring, NRCS had some on my original seeding plan, they worked with me and were able to eliminate them.
My dog's and I are grateful!
As for testing grounds, most of what I see is at hunt clubs. Only know of 1 huge state run dog training area in Wisconsin, sorry I can't be any more help.

It is getting hard to find. All the dirt turned over, old programs ending, and new being replaced with deadly junk. I drive by thousands of acres I will not put a dog in. Plus we are not going to run a trial in one, no one will come. People will scratch the dog, and not come back. I hope they do something fast. Old brome fields are dwindeling. And brome does not work in MN for spring trials, snow lays it flat. Switch and blue stem baby, plant her up.

Have you looked at Four Brooks by Milaca? I have participated in many FDSB trials there. If you need the name of someone I can probably help get that to you.
