Couple Birds on this COLD Day

Jdog

Got out late yesterday and managed to scratch up one rooster. Brothers Draht pointed him and I was able to make an easy shot. Bird crumpled and slid out on the ice. His dog retrieved.

This morning was very cold and we hit a few fields and managed to kill two more roosters and a quail. My new dog is getting better each time I take him out.

Thanks to all those that helped get me started around here.

Good times.

Lesson learned today--don't walk the dogs...let them walk you. :)

Nice job. Getting those young dogs out a much as you can that first season will pay off big next year. You will be surprised how much they improve from year one to two.

Nice... we hunted awhile. It was cold for sure. My son killed his first rooster so it was totally worth it.

Good to see you had success, always trust the dog as others have said several times. Keep your dog in the birds.

very cool stuff

one thing I learned today is quail can hold tight in cover! We should have killed a couple more...
