I'm wonder if there are any good hunting spots within 2 hours of denver, ive hunted yuma, idalia, and cheyanne wells but those are all over a 3 hour drive.......any suggestions.

Sorry Elkhunter, I have to agree with Bleu on this one. For wild birds you're just going to have to make the trek out east. I know that sometimes it stinks but I look at it this way: You live in a state that's a sportsmans paradise. Where else do you have the opportunities that we do? We've got it better than most and I'm thankful for what we have.
My suggestion is to use your time wisely. As you're making that drive have a cup of coffee, read the paper, send some texts, fill out you x-mas cards, clean your gun and change into your hunting clothes. You'll be surprised how quick your time behind the wheel goes when you stay occupied like that. Just kidding bro, drive safe and enjoy the ride.

I'm not real familiar with Colorado since I've only been there twice but the first wild pheasants I ever saw were on a little ranch in a valley in the hills just outside of Craig. That was about 5 years ago and the memory of those two roosters around the big hay bail is permanently etched in my mind. Beautiful state you guys live in, you are truly blessed.

Merle and I shot these two roosters yesterday (should have had my limit but I'm a lousy shot) about 2 hours from Denver. They're some great areas but unlike areas further east, it helps to know exact fields.
