Cold Weather Vest for Brittany

Obsession

I am hunting a Britt for the first time in Colorado this season. This Past Sunday a good snow/sleet storm swamped the area and left my Britt shivering uncontrollably. I got her to the car as quick as I could and warmed up. There is plenty of season to come yet and I imagine a few more snow storms as well.

Does anyone know a good Cold Weather vest for Britts? My pup is only 35 lbs. It seems like every vest is made for Labs.

Thank You in Advance!

I've hunted my Brittanys in South Dakota winters for many years and never had a problem. As long as they are moving they don't ever seem to get cold. Yes, if they get wet and are just sitting around they will show signs of being cold. Maybe because of the colder weather in SD my dogs are better acclimated to the cold.

I use this Cabelas vest on my dogs all season mainly to protect their underside and provide greater visability.

I think if you want a vest to help keep your dog warm in cold weather I would try this neoprene vest from Cabelas.

I may have to give that Stearns vest a try. I assume you have to order them online, since I have never seen a small in the stores.

I should have stated in my original post that the "Snow storm" on Sunday was more freezing rain than anything. I think if it would have been straight snow she would not have gotten so cold.

Thank you for the tip on the Stearns vest. If anyone else has any suggestions I would love to hear them!

Isn't the Stearns really a life vest for dogs? It also appears they only come in camo color. If you are going with a neoprne vest I would take a serious look at the Cabelas one in orange. It's made for upland hunting.
