Elhew gave you the best states.SD is on the bucket list for sure. Just hard to find the time to make that one happen right now with the boys. But I'm trying!!!
South Georgia would be a pretty easy drive from us. I will have to look into that for sure.
I hunted the quota hunt at a few WMA's in Georgia last two seasons did ok on one of them. The others were busts. I have also tried some of the other wma's that don't have quota hunts. With little success. I would not travel from out of state to hunt wild quail on public land in GAI thought the SE, GA e.g., had quail, quail ranches, etc. No more?
If you are hunting public in GA look at the WMA regs closely some areas are quail quota hunt only. Some are only to quail hunting two days a week. Some just have a few days open each year.SD is on the bucket list for sure. Just hard to find the time to make that one happen right now with the boys. But I'm trying!!!

Well said… I’m 50 miles from the cattle capitol of the u states. Which means we are short on crp!My general rule of thumb is to point the truck west until cows start to outnumber people. Then I start looking for birds.
Kansas is probably your best bet. Don't get your hopes up for shooting the limit there. Skip the walk ins, put the work in and you'll find some birds.
