Thank you to everybody for your condolences, comments, and stories. I read them all and I appreciate you taking the time to write them.:10sign:
KB, I think it would be great if you posted some pictures and told some stories about Joules on this thread. The point I was trying to make with the title was just to remind people to get out and make some memories with their bird dogs. So I think it would be very fitting if you (or others who have recently lost a dog) would share some of your memories here.
KB, I was also touched by your story about the kids seeing you cry in the yard. After burying Rusty I drove home and poked my head in the door and told my wife I wasn't ready to come in the house yet. I decided to have a glass of spirits and a cigar out in the yard with the other dog just to spend some time processing everything. My "time to be alone with my thoughts" lasted about three minutes. First my wife and 18 month old came out to keep me company and then the 6-year-old comes out to see what everybody is doing out in the yard... So then everybody is now out in the front yard, including both dogs... So much for getting some time to clear my head.
But I do live in a home filled with love and having the family by my side did help me feel better, so I guess they knew what they were doing...
