Canadians looking for accomidation in S.D. for pheasants

scarey

I'm from Alberta, Canada and a few of us Canucks would like to investigate where to stay and go for a self guided bird hunt. Lots of info on the Gov. web sites re access and have found the Gov contacts to be very helpful. Any suggestions are helpful.

Wait for the bird population surveys to come out in August. Then start to narrow down your area.

Also, do you want any type of mixed bag?

Lots of different avenues to take on this one. The easiest way (not the least expensive) is to hook up with somebody like UGUIDE and you have a place to stay and access to land. I've always done the freelance thing and have hunted almost everypart of SD with the exception of far west. I love being able to see new land and SD offers that within a few hours drive. One of my favorite outings was going from the NE part of the state to the NC/NW part of the state over a weeks time and hunting many different places along the way.
