I grew up in the "avoid in summer/L.A.'s water/giant freaking mountains" zone. Now I live in "he he butt."

That's one of my favorite areas of California (except during summer:D). I hear there is some great quail hunting in "Texas" so I guess I should spend some more time down there. The "cow death camp" cracked me up. I guess its referring to Harris Ranch, great beef.

During my short sojurn in CA, I lived between hippies & wine Snobs (and saw lots of feral hogs).

I would love to visit Calf. Lots of beautiful places. I would love to go though Donner pass, visit Yosemite, the Redwoods, northern calf., hunt Quail, maybe hogs. I could easily spend my winters there.

Although . . . after speaking with my California Cousin last night, he thinks just one label might be appropriate for the entire state, now: "Taxus."

A commentator was on the radio the other night, made a very good point, California with all its laws and regulations and taxes and gun control and alternate life style-his words not mine, large hispanice population is alot like Texas land wise, agriculturely, demographically, yet Texas's economy is doing relatively well, while California clings to life. This may be a great example to progressives how dangerous their way really is. I have never lived in either, nor would I, but it does make you think when we are talking about our cournties future.

Texas is plain NUTS! IMO, give it back to Mexico

Lol. It's getting harder and harder to afford the sun shine.

I've fallen in love with NorCal. If I could I would move up somewhere between "weed", "big volcano" and "basically Oregon already". Its like being in a different state up there, beautiful country.

CA is a GREAT place to visit. You got to be able to drive like Your NUTZ! Just to keep up. Whatever You do while driving the freeways is KEEP UP, if traffic is going 80 You better do 80. AND be ready to SLAM on the breaks.
You'll be KILLED if You drive to slow.:(

Anyway everybody should see the trees You can drive though. The coastal Redwoods are a must. Don't worry "Old Growth Tree People" There are a TON of giant Redwoods protected.

In the Parks there are some Giants that have fallen. They of course in CA let them rot/decay naturally and go back to the Earth.

Lumber from 1 tree would side a couple hundred houses, REALLY!

But You Know,:) I live near Itasca State Park in MN. (source of the Mississippi) and MN largest area of old growth pines. These aren't near as big as the Redwoods, big though. No wood is harvested from Itasca State Park.

Real CA wildlife is in LA:D I had a buddy in the service that was going to take me bear hunting in N CA and I turned him down:mad: Wasn't thinking there:)

Yes, A friend lived there and the first week in LA, stopped at a yellow light. The guy behind her got out of his car and was threatening to kill her! True story, needless to say she never stop at another yellow light...

Yes:) yellow lights in CA doesn't mean get ready to stop, yellow light means speed up to get though it.

My dad was from Texas. I've lived in Texas. You're right, everybody in California should move to Texas as soon as possible. The exodus should start with the hunters and fishermen that go where I go. Yup, Texas is the place to be and pay no attention to the Cotton Mouths, tornadoes, chiggers, humidity, regulations that allow exploding fertilizer plants in close proximity to residential districts, and a governor that is just another in a string of very entertaining people. TEXAS, YEE HAW!
