Burrs best way to control them

I have some places on my land that have these small little burrs.

They are not super bad, but a pain with the dogs at times.
Would burning those areas help prevent them from come back next spring?

Which burs? The grassy sandbur or the heel burs that are segmented and hard broadleafs? There is also the bidens, beggar lice, beggar tick....some are great quail food. Then there is buffalobur, prickle poppy, and all the thistles. Hmm.

I am going to have to look up what kind they are. They are about an 1/8" long, tan in color, and shaped like puffed wheat.

Have not seen any cockle burrs, thank goodness.
