Bucket list trips!

Just head up to northern Minnesota around the first of April. Check the reports from some of the lodges there and they will tell you when the river starts to open up. Biggest sturgeon I have ever caught was fishing with a jig and minnow for walleyes.
Joel..
Suggested he try and get Josh out of Sportsman’s if possible.

Would love to go back to SE Alaska for another bear hunt. Here is the cabin in Shipley Bay and crab going in the pot. And the fried rock fish were the main course for breakfast, with eggs and fried potatoes. The best breakfast ever.

Maynard, was that a guided trip? If so, who did you use? Thanks
It was a friends and family trip with my late brother, who was a charter operator. He always provided quite an adventure. The Shipley Bay cabin is remote and seldom used. In 2009, two guys from Portland spent a couple days there and then my brother was there two times of a week each. We hunted Kuiu Island mostly. Port Protection for fuel and ice, Point Baker to seal bears.

Just got back from Ketchikan. Argentina in April. The Halibut Olympia dish is amazing. I usually grill it but I’ll be making more of that

Chestle,
That looks good. Bet it would work with grouper also.
Thanks,
Maynard

For fishing, it is hard to beat fresh silver (coho) salmon on a fly rod.

My bucket list for 2022 is to shoot some species I have not shot in 20+ years since moving to Alaska.
Now wintering in Montana, I hope to shoot:
1) alpine blue grouse
2) goldeneye
3) Canada goose
4) Huns

The goldeneye and Canada goose should be doable as the season runs until mid-January.
Huns I flushed last year hunting roosters but never in range, the season is to the end of Dec. so doable.
I'm driving the Alcan down in October, so it may be too late for alpine blues...I used to do that early Sept.

Baranoff runs a top notch operation. We were supposed to get married on their island the year COVID happened..awesome place up there.
