Browning Bird n Lite upland vest question

Yes. Inside each side pocket behind the shell loops, is a second, velcro pocket, where I put my cell phone.

Mine doesn't have the velcro pockets behind the shell loops...Is yours the PF version by chance?? Wish mine had the Velcro pockets.

I would be interested to know where you got your vest from also GSPPurist. Thinking I am going to buy this vest also and Velcro pockets would be nice. PF store is the only place I have seen them for sale though.

I think Pella produced the first strap vests that used the Bird'n Lite system. They now offer a new version. I bought their original version from Cabela's about 8 or 9 years ago, before Browning (and maybe others) licensed the strap system and began selling slightly modified versions. Cabela's sells the Brownings now.

I bought another original Pella on closeout a year or so ago via their website. The new version was priced quite a bit higher and I'm completely happy with their original -- which has the inner velcro-closed pockets. I won't wear it out for years, and then I'll put the one I got on closeout to work.

Here's a link to the strap vest offered by Pella, and another to their original Bird'n Lite full vest which apparently is still available at a great discount price. This also looks to have the velcro inner pockets.

I think I bought mine from a business that closed a few years ago. Marley Sporting Dog Supplies but it has been years. It took a google search for Pella Bird n lite and I found the best supply.

My new browning bird n lite vast just arrived yesterday and I am impressed for sure. I paid $83 total delivered and couldn't be happier.(Labor Day special) I can see now why guys pay much more than that for them as they appear to be well worth it.

+1 on the 'original' Bird 'N Lite by Pella. My next vest will probably be a Tenzing, but that's if I ever wear out the Pella.
