Jack rabbits and short-eared owls can drive pups nuts!

Luckily were I run my Brit here in western ok she has chased a few jacks and figured out those things don’t play fair lol. Now she pretty much ignores them.

Stupid question, but can you tell the difference between male and female juvenile birds in these pictures? I have never seen young birds before.

Good question stinkbelly. It takes 16 weeks for a pheasant to reach full maturity. Generally around 12 weeks of age or so the roosters will start getting colors. Much younger than that and they all look the same (hen colors).

if you are looking for decent crop /CRP ground, you will need deep pockets. most CRP ground coming out of contract is going straight into production.
